Emergency Light Wiring Steps

Understanding the Three Wires' Identity

The DC wires of an emergency light are like triplets; although they look similar, each has its own function:

Red wire: Constant voltage positive terminal (24V power input)

Black wire: Constant voltage negative terminal (power circuit)

White wire: Charging detection wire (connects to the battery positive terminal)

Tip: Use a multimeter in DC voltage mode to measure. There should be a stable voltage between the red and black wires. The white wire is only energized during charging.

The Golden Steps for Safe Wiring

Power Off Operation: First, turn off the main power switch and use a voltage tester to confirm there is no power.

Wire End Treatment: Strip 1cm of copper core to avoid wire splitting.

Color Matching: Red to red (power positive terminal), black to black (power negative terminal), white to white (charging wire)

Insulation Protection: Wrap each connector with heat shrink tubing or insulating tape.
